Overlapping Sample Preparation Functions

To reduce the time between injections, the SS and SP can perform the sample preparation functions for the next sample while the current sample is still running. The overlapped functions are run while data acquisition or other program commands that do not require the SS or SP are being executed. When the overlapped functions are completed, the program pauses, if necessary, to allow the currently running sample to finish.

To ensure that sample preparation overlap works correctly, the commands must be grouped together (one group of commands for the SS and another for the SP). Begin and End commands define the start and end of each group. A Wait command after the End pauses the program until the current sample finishes. See Entering Sample Preparation Commands for details.

 Note:

Enable and disable sample preparation overlap on the Option page in the SS and SP Server Configuration properties. If both an SS and an SP are configured, sample preparation overlap must either be enabled for both or disabled for both.
